Oil is the most traditional of the painting techniques.
Its long drying period allows the artist to go back to the painting
and improve his or her mixtures.
Supports: Louvre frames or canvas boards.
Diluent: Louvre rectified turpentine, quick drying petroleum or painting medium.
Indelible when dry.
Applicators: synthetic or bristle brushes of the Louvre range.
Painting knives for impasto work (not more than 5 mm).
Drying time: touch-dry time within 3 to 12 days (depending on the colours).
Completely dry in 6 months (before varnishing).
